My Resolution for 2014!

Hi blogging world! I started this blog in 2011 just as a personal goal and to also familiarize myself with WordPress for my career. I was a Social Media Manager for a major movie studio in Los Angeles. (Insert awesome job and Hollywood experience here). In the 9 months of consistently blogging I had 500+ Facebook fans and over 45,000 views. I was at a good pace and started hosting mini ads on my site (I apologize if they bother you– what’s a girl to do?!) Most of the content I was posting was girly stuff from Pinterest and people liked it for the most part. Being a female in her 20’s I think it’s safe to say that you evolve and grow every year.

Radio silence happened in 2013 and I did not write any blog posts. I stopped blogging because I didn’t have “time.” Such a LAME excuse, I know! I also went through a huge career change and moved to the east coast to regroup on some things. Quarter life crisis you could say.

However things have started off very bright for 2014. I recently came back from a 15 day vacation from St. Barths, Anguilla, and St. Maarten. I got stuck in San Juan for 5 days due to the below freezing cold weather! I shouldn’t complain because I got a free flight from Jet blue and didn’t have to feel the cold weather. I was literally yachting and partying with billionaires of the world. Think of that show on E! “Below Deck.” I witnessed ginormous, expensive bottles of champagne being sprayed and people raking the sand on the beach for Persian families. It was not real life but a crazy experience to say the least.

On the trip we talked about our NYE resolutions which made me think about blogging again (and becoming a spin instructor). Sooo my 2014 New Years resolution is to blog more often and more about content that’s true to who I am as a person. I also changed the subtitle of my blog to: “I blog about stuff I buy, content I like and things I do.” I also just downloaded the WordPress mobile app which makes it so much easier to blog! I highly suggest downloading it ūüôā

Here’s a few pics from vaycay as well! And yes that’s P Diddys boat!

Professor and Beer Life Lesson- Love This!

salt water
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

The Perfect Horoscope Site

It’s my birthday month! I’m a Virgo and I thought it would be perfect timing to tell everyone about my one of my guilty pleasures–Horoscopes.

Call me clich√©, but I’m a true believer that everything happens for a reason. I don’t go to a psychic or¬†check every magazine possible for its horoscope, but I will say that Susan Miller’s¬†is fantastically scary. Although her website looks like it was created in 1996, she has made a clear living off of this blog with the countless number of books and conventions she attends.¬†She gives¬†in-depth¬†planet/universe summary, along with a short recap without the planet lingo since it can get confusing. She gives all insight to those who are single, married, engaged, upon all topics of career, money, and relationships.

You ultimately decide what your future is, but nothing is wrong with thinking what the future holds. I also think it is important to remember not read into everything and pin point dates, after all it’s just for fun!

So just think when you have to pay your mortgage or rent the first of the month, remember to check too!

Beauty- Nobody Can Define It

Call me old fashion and repetitive, but beauty is within yourself. Days, weeks, and sometimes months go by without us reflecting on how gorgeous we are.

I recently stumbled upon this 2010 interview between Jessica Simpson and Oprah Winfrey discussing Jessica’s Vh1 show called “The Price of Beauty.” However, the show was not the interesting part, but more the¬†genuine¬†real words that pertained to Jessica’s weight.

“The pressure that women feel to be beautiful, the pressure that the media puts on women it’s so unfair and it’s so disgusting,” says Jessica. “Nobody else can define it but myself.¬†Nobody’s¬†words, nobody’s compliments, nobody’s love, it’s all what I have within myself. I really don’t care what people say.”

Check it…

Besides loving her beautiful words, I couldn’t help but plug in a new shoe within the Jessica Simpson Collection.

Glossy patent leather and a sky-high heel make the Pattina from Jessica Simpson an absolute stunner. Simple yet statement-making, this open toe sandal has criss-crossing elastic straps around the ankle for comfort, and a minimal patent leather strap across the toe. 5.3 inch heel, 1.6 inch platform. Wireless Headphones

Hi Technology Geeks! I found a the coolest gizmo¬†gadget¬†that may rock your gym session a littler longer than expected…wireless headphones by Jaybird.

These Bluetooth headphones also come in less neon colors, so if you’re not really loving that trend, you’re still in luck.  Plus, with these headphones, you don’t have to deal with any of those unattractive cords.

The wide band might not appeal to absolutely everyone, but it does still stick with that 80′s feel.   On the side of most of their headphones they include buttons to control your music.  Plus, to finish off the deal there is an integrated mic for making phone calls.  You can purchase a pair of these for $99.

A new conversation piece for sure!

Need a more manly version… try the Motorola’s Wireless Headphones. Thanks @Cbradfordparker !
