My Resolution for 2014!

Hi blogging world! I started this blog in 2011 just as a personal goal and to also familiarize myself with WordPress for my career. I was a Social Media Manager for a major movie studio in Los Angeles. (Insert awesome job and Hollywood experience here). In the 9 months of consistently blogging I had 500+ Facebook fans and over 45,000 views. I was at a good pace and started hosting mini ads on my site (I apologize if they bother you– what’s a girl to do?!) Most of the content I was posting was girly stuff from Pinterest and people liked it for the most part. Being a female in her 20’s I think it’s safe to say that you evolve and grow every year.

Radio silence happened in 2013 and I did not write any blog posts. I stopped blogging because I didn’t have “time.” Such a LAME excuse, I know! I also went through a huge career change and moved to the east coast to regroup on some things. Quarter life crisis you could say.

However things have started off very bright for 2014. I recently came back from a 15 day vacation from St. Barths, Anguilla, and St. Maarten. I got stuck in San Juan for 5 days due to the below freezing cold weather! I shouldn’t complain because I got a free flight from Jet blue and didn’t have to feel the cold weather. I was literally yachting and partying with billionaires of the world. Think of that show on E! “Below Deck.” I witnessed ginormous, expensive bottles of champagne being sprayed and people raking the sand on the beach for Persian families. It was not real life but a crazy experience to say the least.

On the trip we talked about our NYE resolutions which made me think about blogging again (and becoming a spin instructor). Sooo my 2014 New Years resolution is to blog more often and more about content that’s true to who I am as a person. I also changed the subtitle of my blog to: “I blog about stuff I buy, content I like and things I do.” I also just downloaded the WordPress mobile app which makes it so much easier to blog! I highly suggest downloading it 🙂

Enjoy!!

Here’s a few pics from vaycay as well! And yes that’s P Diddys boat!

Definition: New Years

Because of my career within the movie industry and the fact that this blog  was my recent New Year’s Resolution, I have to quote a line that from the recent cliche chic flick called New Years Eve…

(Forget the loud music and party hats, this line should be something we all take to heart!)

“It’s suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps – our promises made, and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures – or closed ourselves down, for fear of getting hurt. Because that’s what New Year’s is all about: getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about ‘what if’ and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight – and it will drop – let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long.”

Happy 2012! May all my blogger friends have the best year yet! 😉

The EASIEST New Years Resolution

January is a new start to a new year, well how about a new closet too?

Every January, I turn all of the hangers in my closet backwards, like this.  It takes about 60 seconds: Each time I wear an item, I hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do.  In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and I usually donate it to Goodwill unless I can come up with a good reason to save it.
